MCGALLEN & BOLDEN GROUP ADOPTS W3C XHTML AND PHP CODE

Rapid transition to adopt W3C's standard XHTML and XML in preparation for dynamic content web properties

SINGAPORE, Wednesday, August 15, 2001 - McGallen & Bolden Associates, part of McGallen & Bolden Ireland Limited, has updated its corporate web site (http://mcgallen.net) to adopt the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standard eXtensible Hypertext Markup Language 1.0 (XHTML), which is compatible with the upcoming eXtensible Markup Language (XML), a data representation language that is slated to replace Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) for current generation web sites.

McGallen & Bolden consultants are working to transition other associated web properties to eventually be XML compliant, with stylistic calls to XSL (eXtensible Stylesheet Language) for page presentation.

Upgraded interactivity and script capabilities

McGallen & Bolden Group has also adopted PHP Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) as the standard scripting language for providing interactivity on its web properties. McGallen & Bolden Group previously used Perl and Java as scripting languages. PHP has the advantage of simpler syntax than languages such as Perl and Java, while providing server-side capabilities such as content management, user authentication, and dynamic page generation. McGallen & Bolden's software development team, based in Melbourne, Australia, will be working in the following months to transition more capabilities with PHP. Currently, the firm has success in recreating a modularized web site that provides easier maintenance, accessibility and upgrades, and will launch it as soon as possible.

New credit card processing agent

McGallen & Bolden Group has also transitioned from using Jumbomall to CC Now as its credit card processor for online electronic commerce. CC Now is a larger and more established processor based in the United States, where McGallen & Bolden has a corporate presence, as McGallen & Bolden International Consulting Inc.

Currently, McGallen & Bolden has books, e-books, audio compact discs (CDs), video discs (VCDs, compatible with modern DVD players), and downloadable software. All these properties are developed internally by McGallen & Bolden senior consultants. Some of the properties are also available on Amazon.com, under the author Seamus Phan. Phan is one of the co-founders of the group, and was previously Chief Information Officer. Now Phan serves as board advisor to McGallen & Bolden's Technology and Training practices.
